  Introduction  

The word habit derives from the Latin words habere, which means “have” and habitus which means “condition”. It is also derived from the French word habit which means clothes. Everyone has habits, whether good or bad, and everyone wants to get rid of that habit. But many people cannot get rid of their bad habit, they are so addicted to it that they don’t find anything wrong with it. Their body has become part of their bad habits and ultimately addiction. Addiction can be anything from smoking to eating junk food.  If Dopamine is released from doing anything and you are continuously doing it, it is considered an addiction.

  1. How to quit smoking?  

a. Stay busy

Staying busy is one of the effective ways to avoid the craving for nicotine in the body until all the craving goes away. Getting busy at work does not get time to smoke which is a natural solution to avoid smoking. You may have noticed that when you are busy with your work your brain is distracted and you are not thinking about the cigarette.

b. Avoid smoking triggers

Triggers are anything that makes you want to smoke and they come in many different forms people, places, and things. People that you smoke with, people that you want to smoke because they aggravate you. Places like bars or coffee places you hung out at and the things and things like “when I am at the mobile I like to smoke”, or “When I am reading some books I like to smoke”. You might have to avoid these things

c. Counselling

Counseling is one of the effective and progressive ways to quit smoking. Making people aware of the harmful effects of smoking and counseling them to give up can make a change. Hiring properly qualified counselors for effective suggestions.


  2. How to quit alcohol?  

a. Drink water and juice instead of booze

Everybody wants to fit in socially and drinking is a big part of that scene. You can still drink with your friends. offer to be the designated driver, or tell them you need to get up early. Lie if you have to, but drink something besides an alcoholic beverage when you go out. 

b. Alcohol consumption inhibits your absorption of B vitamins

These vitamins are responsible for almost every function in your body and combat anxiety and depression. Ironically, the more you drink the more likely you will feel like drinking to ease your anxiousness because you depleted this vital nutrient. Take a B-vitamin supplement and it will be easier to refuse the booze.

c. Changing the company

If all your friends ever want to do in their free time is drink, then suggest doing something different. Go to a play, comedy show, or concert, or suggest doing something crazy like going for a hike or volunteering at a local food shelter. If your friends don’t want to play in this healthier way, it might be time to find some new ones.

d. Use the power of your subconscious mind

Meditation, hypnotherapy, and other mindfulness techniques can reprogram your mind so that you no longer want to drink. 10 percent of what we do is consciously planned. If you can access the subconscious mind which accounts for the other 90 percent of your thoughts and actions you are much more likely to make better choices including giving up alcohol.

e. Mitigate side effects of a detoxing liver when you quit drinking

No one wants to feel like crap when they are trying to make positive changes in their lives but if you have been drinking for some time stopping can cause detox symptoms as your liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and other organs get rid of alcohol toxic byproducts.

e. Try to keep yourself busy

Being busy with your work is the best way to avoid masturbation. Not having time to check for porn and sexual arousal which helps to avoid the ejaculation of semen. Keeping yourself busy with your parents and work helps to avoid dirty thinking of mind.

Figuring out the cues that are triggering you to use pornography. So take note of what exactly you get the urge to use pornography.

Write down all the cues and urges you get watching pornography and you can overcome it. So after figuring out what exactly triggers you to watch pornography if you feel depressed your heart rate goes up and you go to watch pornography so you have to break that cycle.
